The changing real estate market has spurned a new interest of different types of housing markets. The Fairfax area has become a biotechnical, health and educational hub for individuals that come from all over the United States and the world. Their housing needs are temporary and the executive housing demand is increasing at a very rapid rate.
Empty nesters, two income families with no children and downsizing from larger homes to smaller accommodations presents another key housing market environment which is apartment living.
Once again, FRDC is in the forefront of meeting the new housing market demands. Innovation Square, a new construction project, will consist of 400 units of mixed income, mixed use apartment living and executive housing. On East 89th Street, FRDC is developing 8 apartment buildings with 8 units in each building. The facades of the building emulate the beautiful Victorian housing stock that still exists on East 89th Street. The construction of both the Innovation Square and East 89th Street projects is slated to begin in the Fall of 2014.
